LOVE YOUR BODY FITNESS WITH ALICE AND DANA

STAVING OFF THE BLUES ROUTINE

This month we are going to Cardio it up and get some energy and blood flowing through our bodies. Let’s feel good and burn some fat and get our heart rates up! It’s time to feel good within ourselves and our skin.

EXERCISE: Cardio-based exercise which uses the whole body. 30 seconds of each with 30 seconds rest in between each set. Repeat each exercise 3 times.

EQUIPMENT: No equipment needed just yours truly.

SUGGESTED LENGTH: 15 minutes

MOVEMENT 1: STAR JUMPS

HOW TO

– Stand tall, core engaged with the feet hip width apart.
– Inhale to soften the knees, in one motion jump up with legs and arms wide up, like a star
– Exhale as you land with your knees slightly bent and feet hip width apart, arms down

MOVEMENT 2: KNEES UP

HOW TO

– Stand tall, draw the lower belly up and in
– Inhale as you lift the right knee up and bend the left arm, like when sprinting
– Exhale as you dynamically switch to the other side
– Do a few reps with a pose between switching, then progress to continue sprinting on the spot
– Keep breathing as you are performing the high knees

MOVEMENT 3: KICK BACKS 

HOW TO

– Stand tall, draw the lower belly up and in
– Inhale as you flex the right knee bringing the heel closer to the butt, bend the left arm and bring it forward like in running
– Exhale to switch to the other side
– Do a few reps with a pose in between switching, then progress to continue butt kicks and swinging the arms actively like when running.

KNEE TUCKS

HOW TO

– Stand tall, draw the lower belly up and in
– Inhale to jump up driving the knees up towards your chest
– Exhale to land with the knees soft
– Do a few reps with a pose in between, then progress to continue jumping up and down
